Art Roho feat. Marek Konarski & Casper Christensen

This project stems from a deep fascination with the early Pat Metheny Group. Art Roho set out to take this distinctive music and bring it into a 2024 context. Key elements of this music include simple melodies with complex harmonic progressions, long forms that take listeners on expansive journeys, warm, campfire-like acoustic guitar strumming, and virtuosic soloing that brings depth and energy to these intricate pieces. Art Roho wanted to do a project containing all of these elements but would yet be new and have a modern sound. 
They decided to bring together two of Europe’s finest musicians, Marek Konarski (PL) and Casper Christensen (DK), inviting them to join in this collaboration. To ensure a fresh sound, they agreed that all participating musicians would contribute original compositions specifically created for this project. 
Their first record “Move” came out in the fall of 2024 and has already gained a lot of attention on danish radio. Their second album is in the making and a tour in September 2025 is being planned right now

Marek Konarski

A saxophonist known for his warm and deep tone, his improvisations are energetic and lyrical, with clear influences from jazz, Scandinavian music, and Polish folk. He is active on the European music scene, recording albums and collaborating with artists such as Jerry Bergonzi, Adam Bałdych, Tim Hagans, Kathrine Windfeld, Anders Mogensen, and many others. In 2022, his album Konarski & Folks was nominated for the prestigious Polish Music Award – Fryderyk.

 

He has won numerous competitions in Poland and abroad, including Helsinki Jazz Comets, the Blue Note Poznań Competition, the Jazz Debut Album competition organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance, as well as the title of Musician of the Year 2015 on the Danish island of Funen. In 2022, his album Konarski & Folks was nominated for the prestigious Polish Music Award – Fryderyk.

 

For his artistic achievements, he has received the Medal of the 100th Anniversary of Independence from the Prime Minister of Poland, the Honorary Badge for Merits to the Lubuskie Voivodeship, and the Honorary Badge “Merit for Polish Culture” awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

Casper Christensen

Casper is one of the rising stars in Denmark, having been awarded “Talent of the Year” in 2018, and his career has since skyrocketed. He is known for his sensitive playing, beautiful sound, and strong sense of timing. His compositional skills are exceptional, and he has a strong instinct for understanding what the music needs. He is one of the most sought after guitarplayers in the copenhagen scene and he is doing extensive touring around france as well.
